This summer I was asked to create a short segment in a group project inspired by a poem that was created in response to the George Floyd and Breonna Taylor Murders that took place this summer. The film premiered on Netflix on December 28th. The film was nominated for a NAACP Award nomination for Best Animated Short and the Hollywood Critics Association Award nomination for Best Short. Every animator donated their time to the project and all proceeds collected were donated to a Black Lives Matter organization and HBCU’s; Morgan State University and Alabama State University’s animations departments.
